What is Cork Fabric?
Cork fabric is made from the bark of cork oak trees. The outer bark is carefully removed without harming the tree and it regenerates over time, making cork a renewable resource. After harvesting, the bark is boiled, flattened, and then glued to a fabric backing to create cork fabric sheets. Harvesting bark from the cork oak trees makes the tree healthier and longer.
